How should I care for my vehicle after Xzilon has been applied?
Specific recommendations may vary by the Xzilon product(s) that have been applied to your vehicle. In general, we recommend the following steps for the easy maintenance of your vehicle’s appearance:
Frequently vacuum the interior of your vehicle and wipe up spills as soon as possible with warm, clean water and soap on a microfiber towel.
Leather, like skin, needs to be conditioned. An off-the-shelf leather conditioner will go a long way to maintaining the supple feeling of your vehicle’s leather interior.
Rinse your vehicle’s exterior to rid it of light and loose particulates, like pollen or dust.
Use clean water and a high quality, automotive-grade wash & wax - available through Xzilon or your local retail store - to wash your vehicle and easily maintain its showroom finish.
Use a clean rinse, shammy any large pools of water (you can use clean microfiber towels for mirror drips and other small water beads), and be on your way!
Do I still need to wax my vehicle with Xzilon applied?
No! You are welcome to use an automotive-grade and non-abrasive wax over your Xzilon coating for additional protection. But it is not necessary.
How can I clean off bugs, tree sap, or bird droppings?
With Xzilon applied, these items should be much easier to rinse off or remove when you wash your vehicle. As with any surface, it will be even easier the sooner you are able to do it. For stubborn bugs, sap, or droppings, additional automotive-grade wash and wax with the use of a clay mitt may be prudent before your final rinse.
How do I remove water spots?
Xzilon helps protect your vehicle from etching damage caused by hard water spots and other elements. For stubborn water spots, we recommend a simple dry wash or quick detailer available through Xzilon or at your local detail shop.
How often do I have to wash my vehicle?
This largely depends on your driving habits - how much you drive, where you drive, and the environment around you. Xzilon’s anti-static properties help repel dirt and grime, keeping your vehicle cleaner for longer and making it easier to wash. And because it covalently bonds to your vehicle’s paint, it will be there for you wash after wash for years.
